FDA Basic Video: Kathleen Uhl on the Office of Women's Health (Video)
What is unique about the FDA's Office of Women's Health?
Kathleen Uhl is the former director of the Office of Women's Health. The office reaches out to disseminate health information for women, funds scientists to study the safety and efficacy of medical products as they relate to the health of women, and examines the participation of women in clinical studies. The mix of roles and responsibilities, says Uhl, makes “…our office very unique within a regulatory agency....[W]e have a very strong advocacy role. But FDA is a consumer protection agency and our office does just that.” Learn more about women's health at FDA...
