Does FDA have the authority to regulate tobacco products?

Yes. On June 22, 2009, President Barack Obama signed into law the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act (FSPTCA, also known as the tobacco control act) granting the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authority to regulate tobacco products.
