1.  OFFICE OF MINORITY HEALTH (DAY).

A. Provides leadership and policy direction for FDA regarding issues of minority health

B. Coordinates FDA scientific, policy, and outreach activities to promote minority health

C. Promotes participation of minority health professionals on FDA advisory committees and in training, internship, and fellowship programs

D. Advocates within and outside FDA for the appropriate participation of racial and ethnic minorities in clinical trials

E. Facilitates FDA communication with consumers and minority health stakeholder groups, including health professionals, advocacy groups, and national public health associations, such as the standardization and analysis of sub-population data submitted to FDA

2.  AUTHORITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE.

The functional statements for this Office were approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services, effective July 8, 2011.
