1. PURPOSE

This Guide establishes guidelines and policy for maintenance of floor directory boards in Headquarters.

2. APPLICABILITY

This Guide applies to the following Headquarters buildings: Parklawn, Park, and FB-8. All other buildings have their own procedures adapted to the requirements of their particular building managers.

3. POLICY

Only certain key officials will be listed on the directory boards because of limited space. Directory boards in the Parklawn, Park, and FB-8 buildings will be maintained in accordance with the following criteria:

1. Main Directory Boards on First and Fifth (Parklawn) Floors: These boards will be limited to Directors and above. Agency EEO Directors will also be listed.

2. Floor Directory Boards: Floor directory boards will be limited to Division Directors and above. A and C wing boards will include only the names of Division Directors and above located in those wings and immediately adjacent headhouse areas, except where sufficient directory board space is available on existing boards to include titles below Division Directors. Each B wing board will include such personnel on that entire floor.

4. RESPONSIBILITY

A. Each Administrative/Executive Officer is responsible for reporting to the Administrative Services Branch (ASB) any changes in floor directories required within his/her Division.

B. ASB is responsible for keeping the directories current based on changes received from the Divisions.

5. PROCEDURE

A memorandum showing the information to be included on the directory board should be directed to Chief, Personal Property Management Section, Administrative Services Branch (HFA-225). Single line changes should be submitted as appropriate. An example of this would be a change of name only. Multiple changes which will necessitate the complete realignment of titles and names should be submitted in typewritten form exactly as the requesting office wishes them to appear on the directory board.
