1. DIVISION OF RESIDUE CHEMISTRY (DJJVEA).

A. Reviews proposed tissue and feed methods in support of new animal drug approvals and other regulatory activities.

B. Develops and validates quantitative, qualitative analytical procedures for analyzing drugs, additives, and contaminants in animal tissues and feeds. Conducts interlaboratory trials of analytical methods.

C. Develops metabolism data on drugs and feed additives in animals in support of the method development activities.

D. Conducts or participates in studies on depletion of drugs, and other substances in food animals.

E. Evaluates screening tests for drug residues in animal derived foods.

2. AUTHORITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE.

The functional statements for this Division were approved by the Secretary for Health and Human Services, effective October 1, 2012.
