OCP FY 2005 Intercenter Consultation Requests

The vertical stacked column graph presents the number of CBER, CDER, and CDRH intercenter consultation requests for FY 2003, FY 2004, and FY 2005. The scale is in increments of 50 with a ceiling of 300. It shows that the total number of intercenter consultation requests was slightly less than 100 in FY 2003. However, it is footnoted that for FY 2003 the numbers do not represent all of FY 2003 and that FDA began data collection on April 1, 2003.

Among the three centers, CDRH had the largest proportion of intercenter consultation requests during FY 2003, accounting for slightly over one-half of the total, followed by CBER and CDER, respectively, which were roughly the same proportion. During FY 2004, the total number of intercenter consultation requests more than doubled to slightly more than 200. CDRH appeared to have most of the requests with slightly over 130. Of the remaining, CDER had nearly three times the number of requests as CBER. During FY 2005, the total number of intercenter consultation requests grew to 275. CDRH had nearly three-quarters of intercenter consultation requests, followed by CBER and CDER, respectively. CBER and CDER appeared to have close to the same proportion relative to each other, with CBER having slightly more.
