The top map of the United States display the laboratory designated to handle microbiological samples divided by regions and number of laboratories within the region:

  • Pacific - 16 Labs;
  • Southwest - 14 Labs;
  • Central - 14 Labs;
  • Southeast - 16 Labs;
  • Northeast - 9 Labs.

  

The middle map of the United States display the laboratory designated to handle chemical samples divided by regions and number of laboratories within the region:

  • Pacific - 14 Labs;
  • Southwest - 14 Labs;
  • Central - 11 Labs;
  • Southeast - 19 Labs;
  • Northeast - 9 Labs.

  

The bottom map of the United States display the laboratory designated to handle radiological samples divided by regions and number of laboratories within the region:

  • Pacific - 5 Labs;
  • Southwest - 7 Labs;
  • Central - 5 Labs;
  • Southeast - 2 Labs;
  • Northeast - 6Labs.

It contains a note that reads, "Total lab numbers reflect laboratory capabilities for microbiological, chemical, and radiological analysis rather than actual laboratory locations because some laboratories will have capability to analyze samples for several types of agents at one location.
