Consolidated Radiological Health Program

The Radiological Health Implementation Program Core Group was commissioned in the spring of 2004 to consider all previous radiation health program studies and make recommendations for the program's future. The group was comprised primarily of OCER employees. As projected, the recommendations were completed and senior staff sign-off was obtained in April 2005. The outcome of the various working groups is abridged into the final report titled, “The CDRH Radiological Health Program- Adapting to Current Public Health Needs 2005 – 2010”. The new direction of the program will increase its relevance to, and influence, the most pressing current public health problems in the radiological health arena and anticipate the evolution of medical radiation systems. Efforts will now shift to implementing these program changes.

A Radiological Health stakeholder meeting is planned for early FY 2006 to develop an implementation plan. This plan will be based on the results of a study designed to determine where CDRH should focus its radiological health efforts to address current public health needs.
