Sau (Larry) Lee is the Acting Associate Director for Research Policy and Implementation in the Immediate Office (IO) of the Director Office of Pharmaceutical Science (OPS) in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER). His expertise includes evaluation of pharmaceutical equivalence and quality standards of complex drug substances (naturally-derived drug substances). In addition to serving as an acting team leader for the CDER Botanical Team, he is also responsible for regulatory and quality review activities on pharmaceutical programs and manage, monitor and oversee internal and external collaborative research programs and projects.

Dr. Jin-Hui Dou joined the Botanical Review Team as the pharmacognosy reviewer in July 2002.  Dr. Dou is uniquely qualified for this position having earned his B.Pharm, and M.S. at the Bejing University of Chinese Medicine and his Ph.D. at the University of Mississippi.  In addition to his formal training, Dr. Dou has extensive practical experience in the areas of medicinal plant biology, pharmacology of herbal preparations, and clinical uses of botanical products.

Dr. Charles G. Wu joined the Botanical Review Team after he has worked as a CMC reviewer at CBER and also as a Pharmacology/Toxicology reviewer at CDER for over 12 years.  Dr. Wu was trained in clinical medicine including the Traditional Chinese Medicine and he earned his Ph.D. from the Medical Center, University of Amsterdam.  He has been working at the FDA since 2001 after a fellowship at NCI of the NIH.
