Division of Compliance
The Division of Compliance is committed to preventing violations and enforcing the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and related laws through guidance, education and regulatory actions. It is comprised of five teams- Complaint/Emergency/Recall; Post-Market Compliance; Drug Residue Compliance; Pre-Market Compliance and Administrative Actions; and Programs and Operation Support.

The Complaint/Emergency/Recall Team (HFV-231) works on many emerging issues involving food, drugs, and zoonotic diseases that require immediate CVM response and coordination.
The Post-Market Compliance Team (HFV-232) deals with all issues related to marketed animal drugs, devices and feed.
The Drug Residue Compliance Team (HFV-233) is responsible for the development and Maintenance of Compliance Program 7371.006, Illegal Residues in Meat, Poultry, Aquacultured Seafood and Other Animal Derived Foods. The Team reviews all regulatory actions associated with this Compliance Program.
The Pre-Market Compliance and Administrative Actions Team (HFV-234) provide expertise regarding Bioresearch Monitoring (BIMO) inspections, investigational research issues, pre-market animal drug and device inquiries, administrative hearings, and personal import issues.
The Programs and Operation Support Team (HFV-235) assists with supporting many of the Division of Compliance programs, coordinates CVM work-planning and is responsible for export certificates. The Team also manages Division assignments and assures that significant actions are on schedule by utilizing project management applications.
