The HHS Orientation, which occurs on the first day of your employment with CVM, will give you the critical foundational information that you will need to get started in your new position.

  1. Head north on I-495
  2. Take exit 34 to merge on MD-355 S (Rockville Pike)
  3. Continue on Rockville Pike, turns into Wisconsin Ave.

  1. Head south on I-270

  2. Take exit 27 to merge onto I-495 W toward Silver Spring

  6. Turn left at Rockville Pike

Visitor Parking
There is a parking garage located on site at Bethesda Place. Follow the directions above on how to get to the parking garage. The total cost of parking will be $10.00.

Security
All participants must go through routine security check procedures for building entrance. Government-issued identification (i.e., driver’s license, passport) will be required.   Cameras and recording equipment are not permitted through security.  Government personnel will be available to escort you from the security checkpoint to the orientation. 

Lunch
This is a half-day orientation and lunch will not be provided. You can purchase lunch in the building’s cafeteria or bring your lunch and eat it in the cafeteria before driving to your campus following orientation.

Directions from HHS/OHR Orientation to the CVM Office of Research (Laurel, MD)

  1. Turn left out of parking garage onto Woodmont Ave.
  2. Turn left at Old Georgetown Road
  3. Turn right at Wisconsin Ave.
  4. Turn left Montgomery Ave.
  5. Continue onto MD-410 E
  6. Turn left at Connecticut Ave. (signs for State Hwy 185)
  7. Take the ramp onto I-495 E
  8. Take exit 27 to merge onto I-95 N toward Baltimore
  9. Take exit 29A for MD-212 E toward Beltsville
  10. Merge onto MD-212 S (Powder Mill Rd.)
  11. Continue onto Ammendale Rd.
  12. Continue onto Virginia Manor Rd.
  13. Turn left to stay on Virginia Manor Rd.
  14. Turn right at Muirkirk Rd.
  15. Turn right into the CVM Office of Research at Pasture Rd.

Directions from HHS/OHR Orientation to all CVM Offices located in Rockville, MD

  1. Turn right out of the parking garage onto Woodmont Ave.
  2. Turn left onto Rockville Pike
  3. Turn right at E Gude Dr.
  4. Turn left at Crabbs Branch Way
  5. Take the 1st left onto Standish Place

There is no assigned parking at the Rockville campus or Laurel campus of CVM, so feel free to park wherever you wish. Once arriving on campus please be prepared to show picture identification upon entering the building if you have not yet received your security badge. After this process, you will be met by your Integration Host, who will show you to your desk.
