Immediate Office of the Commissioner

The Immediate Office of the Commissioner provides policy making, program direction, coordination, liaison, and expert advice to agency leadership and programs in support of FDA's science-based regulatory work.  The Immediate Office of the Commissioner, which includes the Principal Deputy Commissioner, is located in Silver Spring, Maryland.  The following subordinate offices report directly to the Commissioner:  Chief of Staff; Policy, Planning, and Preparedness; International Programs; Operations; Scientific and Medical Programs, which includes the National Center for Toxicological Research located in Arkansas; Chief Counsel; Regulatory Affairs; and Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Management.
