About FDA
Europe
The FDA Europe Office consists of three staff members including the Director, who will be located in Brussels at the U.S. Mission to the European Union; the Deputy Director (Medicines), who will be located at the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) in London; and the Deputy Director (Foods), who will be located at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) in Parma, Italy. Having an FDA presence in Europe greatly facilitates and enhances the large body of work on which FDA currently collaborates with its European counterpart agencies. The EMEA is one of FDA’s closest regulatory partners in the area of medical product review, and one with which FDA has the most active, robust bilateral relationship. FDA’s Europe Office will also work closely with other U.S. agencies in Brussels, Belgium, including the Foreign Agriculture Service, Animal Plant Health Inspection Service, the Department of Commerce, and with industry organizations and consumer groups on public health issues of importance to the agency.
